Elite men’s cyclocross has resumed normal programming. Gone are the days of all-Belgian battles and new faces on the podium – Mathieu Van Der Poel is back, and he is winning.
The UEC European Cyclocross Championships were held in Silvelle, Italy over the weekend, with the top riders set to do battle over a mostly flat and bumpy course. In the Men’s Elite race, the final result was no surprise: Mathieu Van Der Poel wins.
Last week, the world’s best cyclists headed to Yorkshire, England for the UCI Road World Championships. The events included both road races and individual time trials for Junior Men and Women, U23 Men, and Elite Men and Women, as well as a new Mixed Relay Team Time Trial.
